I've been "dealing" with lower back pain for over 3 years & trusting my Chiropractor to relieve the issue. Rolling Eyes Little did I know, a chiropractor CAN'T help a sciatic nerve, though this is precisely why I was seeing one for 2 years.
So last friday, I made an appointment with my FP, hoping something could be done to stop or ease the pain. I recieved cortisteriods (Which combined with pain made me such a C#NT!) , muscle relaxers (Costing $280 with insurance! Shock ) and a trip for x-rays.
Today, the results are in... it's mild arthritis in my hips & lower back. I made an appointment to se my FP on Friday, again... only to receive a call back telling me to cancel it! Doc says I shouldn't be hurting this bad with 5 days of meds + the Aleve & Tylenol I've been taking, so an MRI is being scheduled. I'm just waiting for the callback.

No prayers requested, just glad I'm finding out what the heck is wrong with me! I'll keep you guys informed Exclamation

Chiropractor was AMAZING! Shock They requested copies of the X-rays from Friday, I spent 20 minutes with the assistant and she took me through a ton of range of motion movements (to see where it hurt)... pathetically, my "other" chiro's NEVER did this!
The chiro came in, looked over the x-ray results & agreed with the Doc's concern, there's arthritis in my freakin' pelvis, hips & lower back, but not enough to warrant the pain I'm still in. She was telling the assistant that this or that was tight & to make a note of it. More professional than the Quacks I was giving $120 a week to! Embarassed
The chiro requested a copy of my MRI tomorrow & she'll be working with my FP to fix this danged blessed thing.

My ass & hips STILL hurt, but I can move a bit more freely. Confused I'll post when the "results" are in Exclamation

Called my Doc at 2, before my MRI yesterday, (my back was on FIRE) to request something to dull this pain. Didn't hear back from them. Pissed Ummm... MRI results show same freaking thing... mild arthritis. Still no reason for the pain, though the chiro suspects a cyst pressing on my tailbone. Confused After she wrote a note for my FP, I took it to my Doc. Doc claims they cannot prescribe anything for the pain & has her assistant give me a number for a Pain Management Specialist. Rolling Eyes So I get home, call said specialist, who says they can't schedule an appointment without a "referral" from my Doc. I tell them they just gave me the number, Specialist insists on a written referral to be faxed directly to the Specialist. I can't get the Doc to return my freaking calls, so I leave another voice mail message, stating the written referral NEEDS to be faxed, or I can't make an appointment. Hubby got fed up, these visits are costing me $40 a pop & no one can stop the pain or tell me what's wrong! Evil or Very Mad
I let him talk me into going to the ER. They placed a call to the Doc & the Specialist... and gave me Vicadin. I was suprised when the lacking intellectual acuity pill actually worked! It took away the burning, sharp pain! Yippee! At least now I can think straight & stop biting off family members heads. Embarassed
I got home, called my Doc again, this time talking to the assistant & they sent the info that the Specialist needed. I called the Specialist & I'm going on Monday.

I'm still concerned that my x-rays & MRI are showing nothing... but the pain isn't biting! I really want to know what is wrong! Mad

LOL! I'm hoping to be free from it, since my last encounter with Perc's left me with DT's. But if it must be.... Very Happy

I hope that between them, the docs and the chiros can figure it out.

Pain Management Specialist Dr. Walls was very thorough! Took a complete history, worked my reflexes & politely asked for me to show him exactly where the pain is. He's given me a pain med (so I won't have to stay on the Vics) & a medication to reduce the Burning. He requested to see me in 2 months, plenty of time for the other docs to do their thing.
I stopped in at my FP & made an appointment for Friday, to attempt to figure out WTF is causing this.
I feel blah. Confused
